Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book a gorilla trekking permit?
+
We strongly recommend booking gorilla trekking permits at least 3–6 months in advance, especially for peak season (June–September and December–January). Permits are limited to 96 per day across all gorilla families and sell out quickly. Contact us as early as possible and we will handle the booking process for you.
Do I need a visa to visit Rwanda?
+
Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival at Kigali International Airport, or apply online through the Rwanda Directorate General of Immigration (irembo.gov.rw). East African citizens from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and DRC enter visa-free. We recommend checking your specific country's requirements and we're happy to assist with the process.
What is the best time of year to visit Rwanda?
+
Rwanda is a year-round destination. The best time for gorilla trekking and wildlife safaris is during the dry seasons: June to September (long dry) and December to January (short dry). The rainy seasons (March–May and October–November) offer lush green landscapes, fewer tourists, and lower prices. There is genuinely no bad time to come.
Can you arrange everything from airport to airport?
+
Absolutely. Manoir offers complete end-to-end travel management β€” from your airport pickup on arrival through all your experiences, accommodation, internal transport, and permits, right to your departure transfer. Many of our clients hand us their travel dates and let us handle everything. Just tell us your dates, budget, and interests.
How do I pay for my booking?
+
We accept bank transfers, mobile money (MTN Mobile Money), and cash payment in Kigali. For international clients we typically request a deposit to secure permits and accommodation, with the balance due on arrival or before departure. We will confirm payment details during the booking process and are flexible to your needs.
Is Rwanda safe for tourists?
+
Rwanda is consistently ranked as one of the safest countries in Africa and one of the safest destinations globally for tourists. Kigali has extremely low crime rates and the government takes tourist safety very seriously. Solo travelers, women, and families all report feeling very comfortable. Our team is available 24/7 throughout your stay for any support you need.
What vaccinations do I need for Rwanda?
+
A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required for entry into Rwanda. We also recommend vaccinations for Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, and Tetanus. Malaria prophylaxis is advisable β€” consult your doctor or travel health clinic before departure. Rwanda's malaria risk is present but manageable with proper precautions.
Can you help with hospital appointments in Rwanda?
+
Yes! Manoir offers a Special Hospital Consulting Service for international patients and visitors. We coordinate appointments at King Faisal Hospital and other top facilities in Kigali, provide interpreter support, handle transport and accommodation, and ensure your medical visit is as smooth and stress-free as possible. Contact us for a confidential consultation.
