Car Rental FAQ

Do I need a 4WD to visit the national parks?

For Akagera, the RAV4 or Fortuner manages most roads in dry season. For Volcanoes and Nyungwe, a proper 4WD (Land Cruiser or Prado) is strongly recommended — mountain and forest tracks can be very steep and muddy. We will advise the best vehicle for your itinerary.
Can I drive across the border into Uganda?

Cross-border trips into Uganda are possible but require advance arrangement and additional documentation. Please notify us at least one week in advance. This is a popular option for combining Rwanda gorilla trekking with Bwindi in Uganda. Additional fees apply.
Is driving in Rwanda safe?

Rwanda has excellent road infrastructure on main routes and very low crime rates. Kigali roads are well-lit and safe at night. The main hazard is slow-moving vehicles or pedestrians on rural roads. Rwanda has strict traffic enforcement — seatbelts mandatory, zero alcohol tolerance, speed cameras on main roads.
What happens if the car breaks down?

Call our 24/7 emergency number immediately. We dispatch roadside assistance or a replacement vehicle depending on the situation. All vehicles carry a first aid kit, reflective triangles, and fire extinguisher. For accidents involving other vehicles, call police (110) and do not move the vehicle until police file a report.
Are there weekly or monthly discounts?

Yes — we offer 10% off for weekly rentals (7+ days) and 20% off for monthly rentals (28+ days). Long-term rentals for NGOs, embassies, and corporate clients are available at negotiated rates. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.
